Today owned by the Rapeneau family, the manor was founded in 1773 by the Marquis de Dampierre as a hunting lodge and grapes were grown for their own still wine. Today, together with G.H. Rapeneau group with Martel and Champagne de Cazanove houses. 20ha of personal vineyard. Château de Bligny is the only recoltant producer in the Côte des Bar region – the champagne house makes all its champagnes from its own grown berries. Fine, dense bubble stream, intense, bright yellow in color. The aroma is fresh, mineral and elegantly fruity. Feel white flowers, fresh citrus fruits, apples, light stone fruits, chalk, roasted forge and almonds. The palate is dry, medium-bodied, fruity-mineral, with fresh light stone fruits, nectarines, bitter citrus fruits and a citrus-stinging minerality with notes of toasted bread. The grapes are picked from the Château de Bligny vineyards in the Côte des Bar growing area, the base wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels, the second fermentation/autolysis in the bottle with yeast takes 36 months.
