One of the oldest wine houses in the Champagne region was founded in 1760 by Reims judge François Delamotte. His son, Nicholas-Louis, who was also a Knight of the Order of Malta, took Jean-Baptiste Lanson as a partner and started in 1798. to use the Maltese cross as the Champagne Lanson logo. 1837 the name was changed to "Lanson et Cie". Champagne Lanson has been the official champagne supplier of the British royal family (The Royal Warrant) for more than 120 years and the main partner of the Wimbledon tennis tournament for more than 45 years. There are 57ha of private vineyards around the city of Reims, and the separate 16ha Domaine de la Malmaison vineyard is certified by Demeter, which cultivates biodynamic agriculture. Pale yellow with a fine dense bubble stream, with a green undertone. Elegantly fruity and citrusy in the aroma. Smell apple blossoms, citrus fruits, green apples, ripe yellow stone fruits and toasted seed bread. The palate is dry, medium bodied and fruity lively with fresh apples and citrus fruits, ripe light stone fruits with avocado and toasted almonds. The aftertaste is long and chalky mineral and citrusy. The grapes come from different Champagne growing areas, the base wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels, 5% of the wine is developed in oak barrels and 76% of the wine is not malolactically fermented. The second fermentation with autolysis in the bottle on yeast vinegar lasts 4 years.
