One of the oldest wine houses in the Champagne region was founded in 1760 by Reims judge François Delamotte. His son, Nicholas-Louis, who was also a Knight of the Order of Malta, took Jean-Baptiste Lanson as a partner and started in 1798. to use the Maltese cross as the Champagne Lanson logo. 1837 the name was changed to "Lanson et Cie". Champagne Lanson has been the official champagne supplier of the British royal family (The Royal Warrant) for more than 120 years and the main partner of the Wimbledon tennis tournament for more than 45 years. There are 57ha of private vineyards around the city of Reims, and the separate 16ha Domaine de la Malmaison vineyard is certified by Demeter, which cultivates biodynamic agriculture. Deep yellow with a fine, dense bubble stream, with a golden sheen. The aroma is more intense than average, fruity dense and multi-layered. Feel overripe light stone fruits, overripe pears and apples, ripe citrus with baker's spices, toasted walnuts and buttery bread. The palate is dry, medium bodied and fruity lively with hints of dried yellow stone fruits, apricots, apples and ripe citrus with toasted almonds. The aftertaste is long and minerally fruity. The grapes come from different growing areas of the Champagne region, 70% of the berries come from 1er and Grand Cru village gardens. The base wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels, part of the wine develops in oak barrels, the second fermentation with autolysis in the bottle on yeast vinegar lasts 5 years.
