According to legend, the creation of the liqueur was inspired by King Louis XIV's visit to Chateau de Chambord. Today, Chambord Liqueur Royale de France is made at Chateau de la Sistiere in the heart of the Loire Valley – France. Made from the best and freshest black raspberries. During an intensive 3-step production process lasting 6 weeks, the infusion of fresh berries is combined with French cognac, Madagascar vanilla and aromatic herbs. Compared to other liqueurs, Chambord is less sweet and uses honey instead of sugar.
