The velvety but spicy taste of Old Tallinn Liqueur comes from rich Jamaican rum, carefully selected delicious herbs and exotic citrus fruits. Only natural ingredients are used to make Vana Tallinn. The old Tallinn recipe was invented in 1960 by workshop manager Bernhard Jürno, factory foreman Jaan Siimo and liquor master Ilse Maar. Finished 45% vol Vana Tallinn liqueur was the only drink in the Vana Tallinn family until 1999, later 40% vol and 50% vol liqueurs were added. The classic Old Tallinn tower-shaped bottle is inspired by Tallinn's Old Town and depicts the towers of the medieval city wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The flavor of Old Tallinn is set by strong Jamaican rum, exotic orange and lemon, and aromatic spices selected with utmost care. Made from only natural ingredients, Vana Tallinn liqueur is distinguished by its velvety exotic taste. The slightly spicy taste and pleasant aroma of Old Tallinn Liqueur can be felt with vanilla pods, citrus, caramel, toffee and warming spices. The drink owes its excitingly bitter taste and exotic aroma to cinnamon bark. The thorough and labor-intensive process of making liqueur is largely a craft. It takes almost a month to prepare the drink.
