This Barbera Appassimento style wine has been recognized by several wine magazines as one of the best Piedmont bargains. Ricossa adds to the traditional Barbera the "appassimento" technique from near Verona, that is, the wine is made more lush by drying the ripe grapes for three weeks before pressing and fermentation. 60% of the wine is also aged in oak. The wine is purple in color, ripe in taste, berry marmalade and perfectly balanced. Contains sulfites.
