The Botanist's 31 herbs include nine classic gin ingredients (juniper berries, coriander, etc.) and 22 local plants hand-picked from the island of Islay (peppermint, elderflower, heather, hawthorn, thyme, etc.). They are all harvested from windy hillsides, bogs, peat fields and the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. This exotic herbal cocktail is distilled very slowly (17 hours) in a pot still that the master affectionately calls Ugly Betty. It took the master a long time to learn the slow dance with him, but it paid off, because the resulting gin is outstandingly special, floral and with a powerful aftertaste - the breath of Islay in every glass. The aroma features mild and delicate menthol, juniper berries, coriander, lemon and orange peels. The taste is rich and mild.
