Zacapa rum is aged in the mountains of Guatemala at an altitude of 2,300 meters. It is only at this 'cottage on top of clouds' that the Zacapa rum achieves its exceptionally strong aroma, perfect color and rich taste. A bottle of Zacapa rum contains a blend of rums, the youngest of which is at least six years old. Each bottle of Zacapa is decorated with a handmade 'petate' ribbon, a 3,000-year-old royal tradition of the Mayans. These modern petate ribbons are handmade by the descendants of the Mayans.

Aged for five years in a bourbon cask in Barbados, then a year in a cognac cask in Cognac, France, and an additional year in a used Malbec grape wine cask. The aroma is elegant and jammy, with hints of plum, coconut, vanilla, tobacco and refreshing mint. The taste has a more fruity character, you can feel coconut milk, chocolate, raspberry and banana. A very limited release, available only this year. There isn't and won't be another rum like it. Suitable for a collector.
