The Matsui - Mizunara Cask is a light amber colored whiskey with aromas of fresh flowers, soft vanilla and spices. The taste is velvety soft, where oak, cinnamon, ginger and a little peppery spice emerge, balanced by soft caramel. Notes of flowers, oak, tobacco and vanilla persist in the aftertaste. Matsui - Mizunara Cask whiskey made at Kurayoshi Distillery, located in Tottori Prefecture. It is aged in rare Mizunara oak barrels. The share of Mizunara casks among old whiskeys in Japan is only 10%. This tree needs 200 to 300 years to grow and gives whiskey a special aroma. Mizunara oak brings out the honeyed oakiness and gives an elegant aftertaste. The whiskey uses meltwater from Daisen Mountain. The barrel aging is in Tottori Prefecture, where the influence of nature is strong and the temperature variation between seasons is large (the share of angels corresponds to 3% evaporation in the barrel). The product label is decorated with Katsushika Hokusai's work “Umezawa Sagami Province”.
