The genealogy of the old and venerable Ricasol family goes back to the time of Charlemagne. The Castello di Brolio manor has been owned by the family since 1141. Ricasoli is the 4th oldest company in the world, the 2nd in the world of wine and the oldest Italian wine estate. Salmon pink in color. The aroma is slightly floral and berry lush, with hints of overripe raspberries, wild strawberries and cherry jam with a light peppery spiciness. The taste is light and freshly berry-like. You can feel ripe red wild berries, fresh cherries, raspberries and peaches. The aftertaste is berry-like and balanced with a slight spicy bitterness. The berry skin is soaked in berry juice for 6-8 hours and the wine is aged in stainless steel barrels for 3 months and not aged in oak barrels.
