The genealogy of the old and venerable Ricasol family goes back to the time of Charlemagne. The Castello di Brolio manor has been owned by the family since 1141. Ricasoli is the 4th oldest company in the world, the 2nd in the world of wine and the oldest Italian wine estate. Vibrant ruby red in color. The aroma is berry lush, red flowers, black wild berries and overripe dark stone fruits with a structured berry park, light mint and mild spiciness. The taste is medium-bodied and cherry-fruity. The mid-palate is enlivened by ripe dark berries, a bit of blackcurrant with light spiciness and mild herbs. The aftertaste is berry long and silky tannic-spicy. The grapes are hand-picked from vineyards located in the Chianti Classico region, 280-480 m above sea level. The wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and aged in large and small oak barrels for 9 months and in the bottle for 3 months. 3-5 years of development potential, considering the year of picking the berries.
