The estate of Domaine Rochet dates back to the 17th century when the owner Antoniette de Guillemotes married the nobleman Etienne de Lafon and the estate was named Château Lafon-Rochet. In 1960, the estate was bought by the Tesseron family, which still owns the 45-hectare manor with gravelly clay soil vineyards to this day. The family also owns Château Pontet-Canet, a Grand Cru Classé estate in the Pauillac area. More intense ruby red in color than average. The aroma is of medium intensity and aromatically berry. Feel ripe dark forest berries with dark stone fruits, black cherries, cocoa beans and roasted coffee beans with baker's spices. The taste is dry, fuller than average and berry structured. Smell dried black plums, black currants, dried chokeberries and herbal baker's spices. The aftertaste is long, evenly strong with spicy berry tannins. The berries are picked by hand. The wine is fermented in large concrete and stainless steel vats, and the wine is aged for 12 months in small French oak barrels.
