Viña Cono Sur is a young and modern winery founded as a subsidiary of Chile's largest winery Concha y Toro in 1993 in the Colchagua Valley south of Santiago. The name Cono Sur translates as "cone of the south", to resemble the cone-like shape of the South American continent. The winery has over 1,800ha of vineyards in several different regions of Chile. Viña Cono Suri's motto: "No family trees, no dusty bottles, just quality wine". Salmon pink in color The aroma is berry lush and slightly floral, with notes of overripe raspberries, wild strawberries and ripe red cherries with a slight berry bitterness. The taste is light, juicy berry and lively. You can smell ripe red wild berries, strawberries, raspberries, blood grapefruit and a little rosehip jam. The aftertaste is berry lush and long, refreshed by a slight bitter citrus freshness. The berry skin is soaked in berry juice for 6-8 hours, the wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and does not develop in an oak barrel.
