Viña Cono Sur is a young and modern winery founded as a subsidiary of Chile's largest winery Concha y Toro in 1993 in the Colchagua Valley south of Santiago. The name Cono Sur translates as "cone of the south", to resemble the cone-like shape of the South American continent. The winery has over 1,800ha of vineyards in several different regions of Chile. Viña Cono Suri's motto: "No family trees, no dusty bottles, just quality wine". Pale yellow in color with a greenish tint, The aroma is intense, fresh citrus and a little floral. You can feel jasmine, ripe yellow stone fruits, lemon grass, pickled ginger and sweet citrus fruits. The finish of the aroma with a fresh and mineral fruity note. The taste is lusciously fruity with a slight creamy spiciness. Ripe citrus, grapefruit, tangerine and dried light stone fruits. The aftertaste is fruity with a lively citrus character. Grapes are harvested from various growing areas in Chile, the wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and does not develop in oak barrels.
