Viña Cono Sur is a young and modern winery founded as a subsidiary of Chile's largest winery Concha y Toro in 1993 in the Colchagua Valley south of Santiago. The name Cono Sur translates as "cone of the south", to resemble the cone-like shape of the South American continent. The winery has over 1,800ha of vineyards in several different regions of Chile. Viña Cono Suri's motto: "No family trees, no dusty bottles, just quality wine". The color is pale yellow with a greenish undertone The aroma is fresh and slightly perfumey. Smell jasmine, dried fruits, lime peel, ginger and sweet citrus. The end of the fragrance with a fresh and mineral fruity note. The taste is lusciously fruity with a slight creamy spiciness. Ripe citrus, grapefruit, tangerine and dried light stone fruits. The aftertaste is juicy and fruity with a lively citrus acid finish. The wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and is not malolactically fermented.
