Viña Cono Sur is a young and modern winery founded as a subsidiary of Chile's largest winery Concha y Toro in 1993 in the Colchagua Valley south of Santiago. The name Cono Sur translates as "cone of the south", to resemble the cone-like shape of the South American continent. The winery has over 1,800ha of vineyards in several different regions of Chile. Viña Cono Suri's motto: "No family trees, no dusty bottles, just quality wine". Pale yellow in color with a greenish tint, The aroma is fresh and grassy. Feel fresh herbs, green apples, lime green gooseberries, rhubarb and mineral notes. The finish is fresh and citrusy The taste is light and citrusy fresh. Feel fresh citrus fruits, rhubarb, asparagus, green apples and pear peel. The aftertaste is grassy with a fresh and lively citrus acid finish. The grapes are grown according to the principles of organic farming and come from 85% of the Campo Lindo winery + 15% of the berries from the Bio-Bio Vallley, Southern Chile. The wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and does not develop in oak barrels.
