Viña Cono Sur is a young and modern winery founded as a subsidiary of Chile's largest winery Concha y Toro in 1993 in the Colchagua Valley south of Santiago. The name Cono Sur translates as "cone of the south", to resemble the cone-like shape of the South American continent. The winery has over 1,800ha of vineyards in several different regions of Chile. Viña Cono Suri's motto: "No family trees, no dusty bottles, just quality wine". The color is pale yellow with a greenish undertone The aroma has hints of ripe yellow fruits, ripe apples, pineapple and some tropical fruits. The end of the aroma is enlivened by a fruity citrus freshness. The palate is fruity lively with ripe tropical fruit, melon and citrus acidity with a light creamy spiciness. The aftertaste is creamy fruity with a balanced citrus acid finish. The grapes are picked from different growing areas, the wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and does not develop in oak barrels.
