The small winery was founded in 1968 in the Dundee Hills region of Oregon by Dick Erath, who, being one of the pioneers of the Oregon wine industry, bought land on the slopes of Chehalem Mountain and planted 23 different berry varieties there. In 2006, the winery purchased Washington State's oldest winery, Chateau Ste. Michelle.Pale yellow of medium intensity. Ripe fruits in the aroma, hints of peaches, apricots, ripe yellow apples, pear skin, white currants, white flowers, acacia flowers, citrusy fresh finish. The taste is medium-bodied, dry and elegantly fruity. Smell ripe yellow apples, light ripe stone fruits, orange peel, grapefruit and bitter citrus fruits. The aftertaste is structurally fresh and fruity in balance. The berries are hand-picked from various vineyards in Oregon, the wine is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel barrels and does not age in oak.
