The winery, which is still owned by the family, was founded in 1931 by Mr. By Charles Brotte in the wine village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône region. Today, the winery is run by Charles Brotte's grandson Laurent Brotte together with his sons Benoit and Thibault. Grapes are grown on a total of 70ha of fields, which are divided between three estates: Domaine Barville in the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Grosset in the Cairanne region and Château de Bord Laudun in the Côtes du Rhône Village region. Medium intensity ruby red in colour. The aroma is medium intensity and berry, with the addition of black pepper and some floral notes. To which are added dark forest berries and overripe dark stone fruits. The taste is dry, medium-bodied and berry spicy with soft structured tannic acid. You can smell blueberries, overripe dark cherries, wild berries and crushed pine nuts. The aftertaste is medium length, velvety and berry spicy. The grapes are picked from around various villages in the Côtes du Rhône region. The berry varieties are fermented into wine separately, in large concrete barrels, the wine is mixed and matures for 6 months in large old oak barrels.
