The Bierzo appellation, close to the Galician county border, is the new-kid-on-the-block of one of Spain's most successful red wine regions, Castilla y Leon, which includes the legendary Ribera del Duero, Toro and Cigales wine regions, each hotter than the other. Bierzo's signature berry, Mencia, is a rising trend in the world's wine arenas. Cuatro Pasos is a supple, rather pinot noir-style red wine with a juicy bite, not too light, not overly serious. 3 months of aging in oak barrels nicely binds the tannins of the berry skin and spices with the ripe red berries. Grill & chill. Contains sulfites.
