Offley Rosé Porto is produced by wine master Luid Sottomayor and follows the traditional method of making rosé wines. Hand-picked red grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and pressed immediately to avoid contact of the juice with the skins. A gentle decantation follows to purify the grape juice and remove larger particles before fermentation. Fermentation takes place at a cooled temperature to preserve freshness and aroma. As with all other Porto wines, the fermentation of the wine is stopped at the right moment by the addition of distilled spirits, resulting in a fortified wine. The wine remains in Douro warehouses for the winter. In the spring, it is transferred to the cellars of V.N.Gaia, where it develops in stainless steel barrels to preserve its original freshness and avoid intense oxidation. With careful observation and tasting, the wine is allowed to develop to the perfect ripeness and then bottled. Light pink in color with a violet shade. Tropical and exotic fruits in the aroma bouquet. The taste is fresh and well balanced, with nuances of tropical fruits. Long and elegant aftertaste. Full of freshness and youth and designed for many to enjoy! Contains sulfites.
