In 1890, when Italy was a kingdom, the Duke of Aosta visited wine houses to select the official wine of the court. Arriving at the Ruffino winery, the Duke of Aosta was delighted with the Chianti wine of the Ruffino winery and a contract was signed and a certificate was issued, where Ruffino Chianti is officially the wine supplier of the Italian royal house. This historical moment is symbolized by the front label of Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale DOCG, Ruffino Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG wines. Ruffino winery produces fresh, summer wines from Tuscany, Maremma- Aqua di Venus Rose and Bianco wines; as well as Vino Nobile de Montepulciano, Ruffino Modus (Super-Tuscan). Only about 5-6 years ago, the winery discovered the ancient Ruffino winery recipes for making vermouth and amaro bitters from the archives. Today, Ruffino Antica Ricetta Vermouth and Amaro are represented on the menu of premium cocktail bars.
