A small winery in the town of Blenheim, founded in 1978, owned by the Ibbotson family, who bought the land from the retired British mayor of Blenheim, Sir James Sinclair, naming the winery Saint Clair in his honor. Today, he owns vineyards in several different New Zealand wine regions, both in the North and South Island. Pale yellow in color with a greenish undertone, The aroma is fresh and lively with grassy notes of blackcurrant leaves, tropical fruits, melon and grapefruit, lime peel, gooseberries, rhubarb and nettles. The finish is fresh and very aromatic, with citrus acid. The taste is lively fruity and minerally fresh. Feel fresh citrus, black currant, passion fruit, rhubarb and fresh fruit. The aftertaste is grassy mineral and with a lively citrus acid finish. The wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and is not aged in oak barrels.
