Founded in 1919 by Hilar Schmitt and still owned by the family, the winery is located in the village of Longuich in the Mosel region. The taste is light and sweet and overripe fruity. Smell sweet light stone fruit, apricot marmalade, overripe yellow apples, honeycomb, marzipan and slightly toasted almonds with ripe sweet citrus. The frozen grapes have been picked in the early hours of the morning in December from various vineyards in Rheinhessen, when the temperature is below -7 oC. The wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and the wine is not developed in oak barrels.
