Abalone Cape is named after the South African abalone (perlemoen - "pearl"), which is native to the region's coast and symbolizes the character and origin of the wine. The wine is ruby red with a light purple rim, retaining its youthful color and intensity. The aroma is dominated by blackcurrant and blueberry, with notes of plum and violet and a gentle spiciness - cardamom, wood and smoke. On the palate, the wine is fresh and powerful, with a good balance of acid and tannins. The combination of black berries and light peppery spice gives a warming and pleasantly persistent aftertaste.
