Jura 12 YO Single Malt whiskey is matured for 12 years in American white oak bourbon casks and then finished in Oloroso sherry casks. Jura 12 YO Single Malt whiskey is amber in color. The aroma has ripe tropical fruits, banana and sweet citrus, honey with a hint of smoke. The taste is dry, you can feel tropical fruits, dried banana and apricot, in the aftertaste a little vanilla, dried herbs and orange peel. The Isle of Jura lies between the west coast of Scotland and the Isle of Islay. There is only one road, one pub, one shop, one community and one whiskey still on this island. The natives of the island are called "Diurachs", which is their Celtic name. The island's name comes from the Celtic language Diùra, which in turn is believed to derive from the Vikings - Old Norse, meaning deer - "deer island". Jura Distillery was founded in 1810, restored in 1963, and Single Malt single malt whiskeys, which are still known by the island's legends, are still produced there.
