Jura Seven Wood Single Malt whiskey is first aged in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and then in French Vosges, Jupilles, Allier, Les Bertranges, Tronçais and Limousin oak casks. Jura Seven Wood Single Malt is amber in color. The aroma has some peat smoke, plus ginger, chamomile, coffee beans and cocoa. The taste is dry, you can feel some spices, dried apricot, orange juice, roasted almonds and spices with vanilla. The Isle of Jura lies between the west coast of Scotland and the Isle of Islay. There is only one road, one pub, one shop, one community and one whiskey still on this island. The natives of the island are called "Diurachs", which is their Celtic name. The island's name comes from the Celtic language Diùra, which in turn is believed to derive from the Vikings - Old Norse, meaning deer - "deer island". Jura Distillery was founded in 1810, restored in 1963, and Single Malt single malt whiskeys, which are still known by the island's legends, are still produced there.
