Claymore is a translation of the Gaelic word “claidheamhmor” which means great sword. The Two-Handed Claymore is a large sword used during the Medieval/Early Modern period. Claymore blended whiskey was started in the 1890s by Alexander Ferguson. 1986 Whyte & Mackay acquired the rights to the Claymore brand.
