Calvados Boulard was founded in 1825 in Normandy by PierreAuguste Boulard. The skill of distilling has been passed on in the family from generation to generation. Calvados with a fruity-apple character is amber in color with copper undertones. The aroma is fruity, lush and fresh. Ripe apples, pear skin and white flowers with a light sweet citrus note. A slight spiciness has been added to the drink's aroma from the short-term aging in oak barrels. The palate is lively apple and fresh with well integrated alcohol. Feel fresh juicy apples with a light balanced sweet spiciness dominated by a hint of vanilla. The aftertaste is long, fruity and soft. Grand Solage calvados is distilled using the 2 x pot still method from different apple varieties grown in the Pays d´Auge region. Made from cider and aged for 2-5 years in French Troncais oak barrels.
